Accident Havoc for New Year's
Just after 2pm on Saturday December 30, A car struck the light pole at Cardinal and Sands Point. A woman driving behind a car weaving all over the road witnessed and became involved in it all. She saw the car strike the pole and continue on to a second pole. The second pole snapped in the middle. The top came crashing through her car, exiting through the drivers's side window, right by her chin.
ANOTHER CAR came through some 30-60 seconds after, oblivious all the cables over the road. Once his car became entangled in the wires, the force pulled the wires against a neighbor's house and snapped off the top of a THIRD POLE (in front of our house).
It also pulled off the electrical service for us and our immediate neighbor. JCPL set in new poles and connected us up by late that evening. Our neigbors had to find an electrician to re-attach the meter, and, being New Year's Eve, were out of luck. Another neighbor, hearing their plight, helped out on New Year's Day. Our cable and phone were restored after 4 days.
